Air spring is an inflatable rubber device which is in charge of carrying high loads and absorbing vibrations in vehicle suspensions systems and can replace the common steel springs or other hydraulic balance systems.
This method is known by its high mechanical reliability in comparison to the common methods used today.
The benefit of an air spring is founded in its ability to adjust the vehicle's ride quality.
When the air spring is fully inflated, the ride is very harsh and the vehicle is carried high on the suspension.
When the air is being removed, the ride becomes much smoother and the vehicle rides much lower on the suspension.
Actually, by adding or removing air from the springs the vehicle can immediately be bounced in just a moment.
When weight is added to a vehicle, air may be added in order to increase vehicle's ride height. Hence, a greater payload is possible to be carried on the vehicle while drivability is being maintained.
The air spring system incorporates air compressors and holding tanks which are responsible for providing air at the flip of a switch to allow the springs to inflate and deflate.
