Tire manufacturing
The tire is an assembly of numerous components that are built up on a drum and then cured in a press under heat and pressure. Tire plants are traditionally divided into five departments that perform special operations. These usually act as independent factories within a factory. Large tire makers may set up independent factories on a single site, or cluster the factories locally across a region.
These five departments are:
1. Compounding and Mixing
2. Component Preparation
3. Tire Building
4. Curing
5. Final Finish
