Additionally, tire abrasion is a significant problem for the tire industry, because it poses a challenge to the industry in terms of reliability, longevity, and driving safety. This research examines the mechanisms of tire abrasion, its environmental and health impacts, and explores current and emerging prevention strategies with particular emphasis on material science innovations and regulatory frameworks. With an estimated 6 million tons of tire wear particles released globally each year, addressing this issue has become increasingly urgent for sustainable transportation.
